Cost of mental illness to our community

Mental illness is the single largest contributor to the disability burden in Victoria and accounts for 70 per cent of the disease burden in young people1.

The estimated cost of mental health problems to Victoria is $5.4 billion a year, of which $2.7 billion is lost productivity and workforce participation2.
